Finistère has the highest concentration of lighthouses in the world. From the Vougot campsite, go and admire these colossuses:

  • the lighthouse of the Ile Vierge in Plouguerneau: the highest stone lighthouse in the world,
  • the lighthouse of the Pointe Saint Mathieu in a mystical setting,
  • the Pontusval lighthouse at Brignogan-plage,
  • the Petit Minou lighthouse in Brest,
  • and many others…

Why not spend a day at sea? From the Vougot campsite, take a day trip to the islands of Ouessant, Molène or Batz. A change of scenery and breathtaking landscapes guaranteed! Located between Roscoff, Brest and Le Conquet, the Vougot campsite allows you to reach the landing stages for these islands in less than an hour.

SUBLIME LANDSCAPES TO DISCOVER

Finistère is the largest maritime department in France and has no less than 1200 km of coastline. By staying at the Vougot*** campsite in Plouguerneau, you can fully enjoy the pleasures of the sea.

The beautiful sandy beach of Le Vougot is 1.9 km long and is only 250 m away from our campsite. You can relax, read your summer novel, swim at any time of the day, play beach games and sandcastles with the children…

Want to discover new sensations? Take advantage of the windsurfing and sailing courses offered by the Plouguerneau nautical centre. A water sports centre is located 800m from the campsite, from 15 July to 15 August.

Also 250 m from the campsite, the customs path (GR34) allows you to walk along the beach of Vougot and to discover wild landscapes of great beauty. Fine sandy beaches, coves, jagged cliffs and abers await you. In the evening, when the sun sinks into the sea, the beach offers a delightful setting for a romantic stroll for two.

Visit the Abers, the Aber Wrach and the Aber Benoît, by boat with the Abers boats from Plouguerneau or Landeda.

Take advantage of your stay at the Vougot campsite in Finistère to spend a day on the roof of Brittany, in the Monts d’Arrée, a land of moors and heather, and in Huelgoat and its legendary forest.

At Océanopolis, in Brest, discover the oceans, a world so close to us and yet still little known. Océanopolis is definitely not just an aquarium but a real journey into the oceanic world from a scientific perspective.

The recreation of the 3 priests

Spend a fun-filled day at the Récré des 3 curés. The largest amusement park in Brittany, it is only 25 minutes from the Vougot campsite.

Numerous rides for young and old, karting, playgrounds … and the spectacular “Vertika” for strong sensations. Catering on site for an unforgettable day.

Cultural events and festivals

Brittany is a land of famous as well as more intimate celebrations: feasts, festivals, festou noz, fireworks but also sporting events. A vast programme that can be consulted on the agendas of the websites of the Pays des Abers, the Côte des Légendes and Brest Terres Océanes tourist offices.

Notable events include

  • The famous Brest maritime festivals and the festivals of the ports of call, including Plouguerneau, which take place in July every four years.

  • The Tro Bro Leon, also known as the Hell of the West, is a cycling race that takes place every year in May, a sort of Breton Paris-Roubaix. A route along the “ribines”, stony and muddy farm tracks, passing in front of the Vougot campsite in the Natura 2000 area of Guissény, for an arrival in Lannilis. Several circuits are proposed the day before the main race for cycling enthusiasts, between land and sea.
  • In July and August, the port of Curnic comes alive with concerts every Friday evening, just a stone’s throw from the beach and the Vougot campsite.
  • The local festivals are also the SNSM parties of Guisseny and Plouguerneau, theatre evenings with the local company Ar Vro Bagan in Plouguerneau and Meneham in July and August, the festival of the seaweed growers in Plouguerneau, the onion festival in Roscoff, the Kastell Paol festival in Saint-Pol-de-Léon and many others.
